Picanha’s Third Anniversary

November 5, 2019 | About Us

Our Three-Year Anniversary

November is an important month for us, as we’re celebrating a big milestone! Picanha is officially three years old this week, and we couldn’t be happier with our journey since we opened. We want to thank you all for sharing these three years with us and for being there as we grow every day. That is why we want to make you part of our history and celebration, Chester.

This 2019 has been a great year for us. We have welcomed some new faces to our team and seen some familiar ones progressing within the company, and we’re incredibly proud of how our team is evolving.

For this reason, we wanted to share with you some of the highlights of this year so far!

Social Sunday

Earlier this year, our team took part on Social Sunday along with our sister brand Fazenda. This was a fun way to raise money for Hospitality Action, an amazing charity whose aim is to provide support for people in the hospitality industry across the country.

For this, our team members swapped departments, with our expert Passadores swapping knives for cocktail shakers, and our floor team taking on the flames in the kitchen. It was a great day of fun and appreciation of each other’s jobs, as well as contributing to a really good cause.

Time to Change Pledge

Something else that we feel incredibly proud to be part of, is the pledge we signed for ‘Time To Change’  last August.

‘Time To Change’ is a social movement that wants to bring mental health issues to light, changing people’s perception of it. Sadly, there is still stigma and discrimination when it comes to mental health, and ‘Time To Change’ is working hard to change that.

But why did we decide to sign this? We are aware that the hospitality industry has the power to be a catalyst for, or cause of, poor mental health of employees due to its long shifts, anti-social hours and fast-paced and dynamic environment. With this pledge, we aim to create a culture where we can talk about it as easily as our physical health if we need and want to do so.

Our New Blog

This year also saw the launch of our blog! This meant an exciting step forward for us in our will to get closer to our guests by sharing bits of who we are, what motivates us and what we offer.

With our blog posts, we want to bring our guests the opportunity to get to know us better in a space where we also talk about amazing places from our roots back in Brazil and Argentina; share news, and introduce you to members of our team.

We publish something new every other week, so make sure you keep an eye for the latest updates, Chester!

And finally, we want to thank all our guests for making Picanha possible. No matter how great our team is, we wouldn’t exist without all of you and we’re incredibly grateful for every single one of you that have joined us over the last 3 years.
